6 Part-time 11 hours ago Full Job Description Summary Provide effective planning, instructional support, coaching and technical assistance to public/private early childhood programs to enhance the quality of services for children and families.
This job requires supporting programs seeking NAEYC accreditation, individualizing support through site visits, policy development, portfolio review, classroom observation and promotion of quality practices.
Role requires the ability to work with diverse teams in a developmentally appropriate manner, while providing culturally responsive professional learning opportunities in northeastern Connecticut and with other learning partners throughout the state.
As a member of a team you will facilitate support meetings for program administrators, provide public supports through NAEYC Accreditation overviews, create and implement professional workshops, and provide consultation to programs about the NAEYC process and continuous quality improvement.
Duties Develop and maintain partnerships with school district personnel and early care programs seeking continuous quality improvement professional learning services.
Provide consultation in the related to NAEYC Program Standards.
Develop and facilitate professional learning experiences for early childhood educators.
Facilitate, coach, and support a collaborative, problem-solving process with early childhood educators (individually or in groups).
Promote an anti-bias and equity-driven approach to early childhood education.
Manage multiple responsibilities at the same time.
Work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams in various settings.
Ability to develop and facilitate a continuum of professional learning using a variety of delivery models including in-person, virtual, synchronous, asynchronous or blended.
Participate in professional learning opportunities for professional growth Demonstrated depth of knowledge in:
Developmentally appropriate, evidence-based practices NAEYC Program Standards Cycle of intentional teaching & reflective practice Progress monitoring and action planning Comprehensive understanding of various early childhood settings Culturally responsive practices Instructional coaching in early childhood setting Early Childhood Assessment Tools or NAEYC tools to use with programs to provide feedback Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Master's Degree in related field certification preferred.
Early Childhood Initiatives is open to working with an early childhood professional that can grow and be supported to fulfill the role described, with at least five years' work experience in the field of early childhood education.
Training or coursework in Adult Learning Theory or Practice or willingness to complete within one year of hire.
Knowledge of early childhood programs, principles, and procedures including state of Connecticut Licensing Regulations, Head Start Performance Standards and NAEYC accreditation process and criteria for program improvement.
Requires the ability to utilize computer systems and software necessary to perform position functions.
Travel Requirements Travel in northeast corner and throughout Connecticut is a requirement of this position.
